Detroit Harvest Fest is back at Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park on October 3 and 4, with more than 30 food trucks, outdoor movies, and $5 advance admission.
Fall on the Detroit riverfront comes with a price tag this year, and it is a friendly one. For $5 in advance, you can spend a Saturday at Detroit Harvest Fest. This year's spread runs to more than 30 food trucks, with movies and full bars for the adults.
The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy brings the festival back to Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park on Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4, running 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days. The park sits on West Jefferson along the Detroit River, and it is the event's second fall at the site.
Admission is $5 per person in advance, or $15 for a family four pack. At the gate it is $8. Children 3 and under, seniors 65 and older, and active military with ID get in free.
The food trucks are the anchor, but plenty is packed into the two days. A Games Grove offers axe throwing, archery, and cornhole, while a Henry Ford Health Wellness Zone brings sound bowl sessions and meditation.
A $5 ticket to a day on the water is about as Detroit a fall plan as it gets. The festival drew roughly 50,000 people its first year on the Dequindre Cut greenway and more than 60,000 its second.
