Ford Fireworks are Monday. Here's what you need to know.

The 68th Ford Fireworks light up the Detroit riverfront on Monday, June 22, with the show set to begin around 10 p.m. The Parade Company produces the display in partnership with title sponsor Ford Motor Company, and the city says this year's show will send more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects over the Detroit River.

Here is the full rundown for Monday.

## Where to watch

Four official viewing areas open to the public. Hart Plaza, Spirit Plaza, and Erma Henderson Park all open at 2 p.m. and are free. Erma Henderson Park is capped at 1,500 people. The three downtown sites stay open until they reach capacity, so arriving early helps.

Belle Isle stays closed until 2 p.m., then opens to vehicles and pedestrians. Entry requires a Recreation Passport, which costs $15 for Michigan vehicles and $12 for a one-day out-of-state or international pass. Pedestrians and bicyclists enter free. The state caps the island at 3,000 vehicles. From 2 to 4 p.m., all vehicles are directed to the paddock area, except those with valid ADA placards. The city says to text GEM to 80888 for an alert when the island fills.

The viewing areas prohibit tents, alcohol, drones, pets, weapons, open flames, cooking, and personal fireworks.

## Getting there

DDOT reroutes six bus lines to the Bricktown station between 5 and 11 p.m. The People Mover runs from 6:30 a.m. until midnight, but the Huntington Place, Millender Center, and Renaissance Center stations close after 2 p.m. and do not reopen for the show. The Q-Line runs a shortened service starting at 6 p.m.

If you drive, the Ford Underground Garage charges $10 and runs from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. The Eastern Market Garage charges $5 and runs from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

## Road closures

Street closures begin around 6 p.m. Woodward Avenue closes between Park and Witherell. All streets south of Fort and west of Woodward close, as do all streets south of Congress and east of Woodward.

## Curfew

A curfew for anyone 17 and under runs from 8 p.m. on June 22 until 6 a.m. on June 23 within the downtown boundaries. Minors downtown during those hours must be with an adult who is at least 21.

Gates open at 2, the show starts around 10, and the drones stay home.
