New reporting from dBusiness, by R.J. King, says two local partners plan to turn a 40,000-square-foot Rivertown building into a year-round home for pickleball and gathering. Alan Brown and Rahul Baweja are redeveloping 3201 Franklin St., with the Detroit Pickleball Club taking about 60 percent of the space and a social hub called The Foundry filling the rest. Renovations are underway, and doors are expected to open in late 2026. Strait has not independently confirmed this. Brown told dBusiness he wants the building to be "more than just a spot to hit a pickleball" and describes it as "a genuine neighborhood anchor."
