According to Hour Detroit, reporter Aidan Shapiro writes that Cass Cafe, the Midtown restaurant and art gallery that closed in 2022, is set to reopen on Nov. 6 as the Cass Cafe Cultural Center.
The revived space would run under the Chalfonte Foundation, led by Aaron Timlin, keeping founder Chuck Roy's vision while adding a radio station, film nights, and community programming. Hour Detroit reports it is being structured as a community-owned social enterprise, with an open house held at Dally in the Alley on Sept. 12.
Strait has not independently confirmed this.
