New reporting from Hour Detroit says Jalen Rose Leadership Academy, the tuition-free public high school in northwest Detroit, has launched a capital campaign to open a second campus and double its enrollment. According to reporter Morgan Brown, the academy will move its high school into a 70,000-square-foot former hospital on the Royal Oak Township border, a building donated by Henry Ford Health. Students are set to move in for the 2027-2028 school year. Jalen Rose projects the school will double its enrollment between the two campuses, he told Hour Detroit. Strait has not independently confirmed this.
