MotorCity Casino Hotel opens its first renovated floors in a $65 million makeover

MotorCity Casino Hotel has started handing guests the keys to its makeover. The property opened its first two floors of renovated guestrooms this month, the opening move in a $65 million, multi-year project it calls Elevate the Escape.

Three room types are bookable now: Executive King, Executive Two Queen, and Executive Suite.

Additional renovated guestrooms and suites will open progressively through the end of 2027, when the company expects the full project to be complete.

The design carries a local signature.

These guestrooms bring a new level of comfort, design, and functionality to the hotel experience at MotorCity, said Fred Isaacs, vice president of hotel operations. Lily Diego, creative director at Gensler Detroit, said the guestrooms were designed as a true retreat that balances the energy of the casino.

The room work caps a busy stretch for the property. Recent additions include a bar and lounge called The Wagner at the center of the casino floor.

The first renovated floors are bookable now, and the rest of the tower follows through 2027.
