Movement's twentieth year under Paxahau closed Memorial Day at Hart Plaza with DJ Minx finishing the Pyramid Stage and Dom Dolla closing the Movement Stage.
Movement Music Festival closed its three-day run at Hart Plaza on Memorial Day, Monday May 25, marking twenty years since Paxahau took over the Detroit electronic music festival in 2006. The 2026 edition ran May 23 to 25 across six stages, with more than 115 acts on the bill.
Monday's closing slots split between two of the festival's marquee stages. According to the official set times, DJ Minx finished the Pyramid Stage from 9:30 to 11 p.m. as the closer of the day's House Your Life showcase, while Dom Dolla closed the main Movement Stage in the same window.
DJ Minx, born Jennifer Witcher, is one of the festival's true Detroit residents. She founded the Women on Wax DJ collective in December 1996 as a platform for women DJs from metro Detroit, and launched Women on Wax Recordings in 2001. Mixmag named her one of twenty women who shaped the history of dance music in 2015, and the city of Detroit gave her its Spirit of Detroit award in 2018.
Dom Dolla, the Melbourne house producer, was billed by the festival as Monday's headline closer. His 2023 collaboration with MK, "Rhyme Dust," became one of the year's biggest dance tracks, certified platinum in Australia.
Earlier in the day, Sillygirlcarmen played the Detroit Stage from 6 to 7 p.m., per the published schedule. The Detroit Stage closed Monday with a set from Keith Worthy.
Memorial Day Monday remains the most affordable single-day pass at Movement and the day most associated with the festival's hometown crowd. Movement 2026's twentieth-anniversary lineup leaned on that history, mixing Detroit founders and residents with international headliners across the long weekend.
