Paxahau presented the British electronic duo at Building 6 on October 21, the Detroit stop on Autechre's first North American run in ten years.
Autechre played Building 6 at the Russell Industrial Center on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Paxahau presented the show, with doors at 7 p.m. and admission limited to ages 18 and up, according to the official event listing on Resident Advisor and the duo's own tour page on Warp Records.
The Detroit date was one stop on Autechre's first North American tour in roughly ten years. Per the tour announcement carried by Consequence, the run opened October 1 in Denver and moved through cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Toronto and Boston before closing on the East Coast at the end of the month.
Autechre is the long-running British electronic project of Sean Booth and Rob Brown, a fixture of the experimental and IDM world since the early 1990s. The pair tour rarely, which makes any United States appearance, and a Detroit one in particular, a draw for fans who follow the genre.
The Russell Industrial Center is a cluster of former factory buildings on Detroit's near north side, at 1600 Clay Street, that has been converted into artist studios and event space. Its raw concrete rooms and exposed industrial bones have made it a recurring home for music programming, and the kind of space that suits machine-driven, abstract electronic sound.
Detroit's Mark Broom and nnirror were billed in support, according to the Resident Advisor listing.
Paxahau, best known locally for the Movement festival, continues to program one-off shows outside the Memorial Day weekend frame. The Autechre booking fit that pattern: a single warehouse date built around a touring artist rather than a named festival series.
