DJ Stingray 313 brought his Echogenesis tour to Detroit on September 27, 2025, with a date at Lincoln Factory presented by Interdimensional Transmissions.
The bill paired Stingray with two younger American artists, Akua and 1morning, the same touring trio that would later carry Echogenesis to Montreal, Chicago, and Los Angeles. For the Detroit stop, Interdimensional Transmissions added local DJ Aki to the lineup. The promoter described the night as a cross generational telling of the futuristic and scientific side of techno and electro, a framing that fits Stingray's long habit of putting his own sets next to producers working in adjacent territory.
Stingray, born Sherard Ingram, is a Detroit electro producer and DJ whose catalog reaches back to the late 1990s, when he became the touring DJ for the city's electro duo Drexciya and took on the Stingray 313 name, a nod to Detroit's area code. He has kept the machine-funk and electro lineage going through his own records and live sets ever since.
Lincoln Factory sits at 1331 Holden Street, inside the historic complex that served as Henry Leland's first Lincoln Motor plant beginning in 1917. The room is a relatively recent addition to Detroit's electronic-music circuit, and electro played at Stingray's volume and tempo asks a lot of a sound system. For the Detroit date, the promoter credited venue transformation to Amber Gillen and her Infinite Dimensions crew, with additional sound by Jim Gibbons AVS.
The Echogenesis run continued past Detroit, with the trio billed at NWHR in Montreal on October 3, 2025, and further dates in Chicago and Los Angeles that October.
