The Detroit Historical Society is hosting Fred Hall House - Behind the Scenes, a tour inside a private residence tied to the Detroit Golf Club neighborhood, on October 18, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m.
The house is turning 100, and the society builds the visit around that anniversary. "Celebrating 100 years, the home of Fred Hall reflects the elegance, craftsmanship, and architectural ambition that defined the subdivision built around the Detroit Golf Club throughout the mid-1920s," the event listing reads.
That is a specific slice of city history. As a subdivision rose around the Detroit Golf Club in the mid-1920s, the homes there went up with real ambition. These are the streets where Detroit's early twentieth century money built to impress, and a century on the best of that work still stands. The Fred Hall House is one of those homes, and it has done more than survive. The society says the residence was "lovingly restored over several years."

Tickets are $35 for Detroit Historical Society members and $45 for general admission.
