Dossin Great Lakes Museum offers a free docent-led tour on October 31

The Detroit Historical Society is offering a free, one-hour docent-led tour of the Dossin Great Lakes Museum at 100 Strand Drive on Belle Isle on October 31, 2026, at 1 p.m. (museum admission required separately).

The Society describes the tour as "an engaging look at Detroit's maritime legacy and its deep connections to Great Lakes history." Registration is open on the Society's website.

Why we're watching: docent-led access to Detroit's maritime story is worth the trip, and the Society may post more Dossin tour dates on its site as the season goes on.
