New reporting from usawire.com says Carhartt and Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design have opened the Carhartt Apparel Lab, a workspace at the Detroit school where emerging designers can build and test apparel prototypes and get feedback from industry professionals.
The account, drawn from a partnership press release, puts the ribbon-cutting on September 21. PLC Detroit president D'Wayne Edwards told usawire.com the Carhartt team "believed in our vision" and gave students a chance to learn from its design leaders. Strait has not independently confirmed this.
Carhartt was founded in Detroit in 1889.
