Marble Bar opened in the fall of 2015 at 1501 Holden Street, in Detroit's New Center area. The building had a life before the club. For years it was the Detroit Eagle, a longtime gay bar that vacated the Holden Street space in 2010 and later moved north to McNichols Road. The room was reworked into a music venue and reopened under its current name.

The format has stayed consistent. The club programs house and techno as its year round music, pairing local residents with touring guests across an indoor room and an outdoor patio, both run on custom sound systems, per the venue's own listings on its site and on Resident Advisor. Ownership and booking have stayed in Detroit.

The 10 year anniversary ran across two nights in October 2025. The first night, October 3, featured Waajeed, LADYMONIX and Peter Croce, among others. The second night, October 4, put Octave One live and Miami's Danny Daze on the patio, with Kevin Reynolds live, BMG and Salar Ansari inside, according to Resident Advisor's event listings. Octave One, the live techno project of Detroit brothers Lenny and Lawrence Burden, and BMG are among the local names that turn up most often on the room's bills.

The same team has since expanded a few blocks away. Lincoln Factory, a roughly 9,000 square foot warehouse style venue inside the Dreamtroit development on the site of the former Lincoln motor plant, opened in 2024 and is run by the people behind Marble Bar, per Crain's Detroit Business and the venue's Resident Advisor page. The two rooms work as a pair: the smaller Holden Street club for club sized bookings, the warehouse for the bigger weekends.

Marble Bar is at 1501 Holden Street in New Center.
