Paxahau booked Autechre at the Russell Industrial Center on October 21, 2025.
Autechre is the British IDM duo of Sean Booth and Rob Brown. The 2025 date was part of their first North American tour in several years. Autechre's touring frequency makes any US appearance notable.
The pairing with Paxahau is specific. The festival organization has increasingly been using the off-season to book shows that do not fit the Movement weekend frame. Autechre at a warehouse venue in October is about as off-brand for the standard Movement calendar as a booking can get. That seems to be the point.
Russell Industrial Center is a complex of old factory buildings on the north side of the city that has been converted into artist studios and event space. It has hosted a range of music programming over the years, with the kind of raw concrete and exposed infrastructure that makes it a natural fit for IDM and experimental work.
The show was not advertised as part of any larger series. Paxahau is running these one-off bookings as they come, rather than building them into a named off-season program. Whether that stays informal or eventually becomes something more structured is an open question.
